From working each day at my PC for my full-time job, writing my reviews here at Rectify Gaming, and of course, putting in a massive amount of hours gaming, my eyes are ready to explode at the end of the day. A few years ago I happened upon a pair of Gunnar Glasses at my local BestBuy and decided to give them a shot.

I was very satisfied with the purchase as those hours felt like nothing now behind that lens. I don’t wear prescription glasses, so at first getting used to wearing glasses while working and gaming was a bit strange, to be honest, but these glasses have been such a lifesaver for my eyes.

I would recommend that anyone who spends a lengthy amount of time behind a screen really invest in something to help reduce the strain. Of course, there are many brands out there not to mention so many styles to choose from and luckily Gunnar has such a wide variety I am sure that someone will find a pair that suits them for their everyday needs. When I got word Gunnar wanted to send me a few pairs of their new glasses I jumped at the opportunity to get a refresher on my current pair which has certainly seen better days. I wasn’t exactly sure what styles I would be sent to review but I wanted to show you one pair in particular that I recently received which I absolutely love.

The pair of glasses that I now use almost exclusively are the Diablo IV, Sanctuary Edition. Anyone who knows me knows I love Diablo. I grew up spending my days doing endless Meph runs in Diablo 2 on dial-up internet and couldn’t get enough, so Diablo certainly has a special place in my heart so of course I had to review this pair first. Let me start off by saying, that in my opinion, these glasses are probably the most covertly branded gaming eyewear. The frames are simple, nothing crazy or over the top, the lenses are thin but do a wonderful job at blocking out the harsh light from the monitor. People honestly have no idea that they are based around Diablo so wearing them on work calls doesn’t cause any issues for me either.

The front section of the frame is a dark blood-red color, with two silver accent pieces much like you would find on a classic pair of Ray-Ban’s. The frame’s temples (which run over the ear and across your temples) are a solid black with a simple silver Diablo IV emblem. Nothing else signifies that these are gaming-related glasses outside of the Gunnar logo on the left eye lens at the top. They are very sleek, well-designed, light on your face, and comfortable allowing for long hours of use without causing irritation. I absolutely love the colors Black and Red so these are basically the perfect pair of glasses for my style and preference.

Outside of the glasses, this particular set came with a Diablo IV box to hold the glasses in. Upon opening the box, you can see the inside is lined with a soft felt that is pure black with the word “Hell Welcomes All” inside in the same blood red as the glasses themselves.

Inside the box, the glasses come wrapped in a soft bag that has the Diablo IV logo on the back that matches the temples of the glasses logo, and on the front, there is a red and black Lilith image. Lastly, the glasses also come with a Diablo IV branded microfiber cloth that you can use to clean your glasses from smudges. This cloth also features Lilith and the Diablo IV logo on the back. When you close the box there is a slight magnetic clasp built in to keep everything secure if you need to pack them away in something a bit more sturdy. The box itself is Diablo branded with a slight image of the gates of Hell wrapped around the box. Needless to say, this is a complete package. Please see the rest of the images below to see all the details with more clarity.

Overall, like I said, these have now become my daily glasses for work and gaming. I highly recommend that you take a look at the Gunnar website as there are so many awesome designs to choose from such as Marvel, Call of Duty, Fallout, Assassin’s Creed, and Overwatch just to name a few! If you want to stay away from purely gaming-themed glasses, you can of course go with the more standard-style frames which there are plenty.

For someone who might want to show their passion for a game but not be so overbearing that they look ridiculous, there are options there for you. Lastly, please protect your eyes. These glasses and others like them are scientifically proven to help you in several aspects of life so while the price might be a little high, I think that if you are stuck to your monitor, phone, or TV for hours on end it certainly doesn’t hurt to have a pair of glasses for when you start feeling that strain. More reviews for different styles are on the way, so keep on the lookout for those as well because there certainly are some interesting pieces that we were sent!
