For what was originally perceived to be a very lengthened wait for Halo: The Master Chief Collection to hit PC was eventually delivered almost a year ago in December. The same was also projected for the entire anthology of the series as developer 343 Industries promised the bundle will be shipped in chronological order. However, the game came together fast than anticipated with Halo 3: ODST shipping this past September.

While Halo: The Master Chief Collection is to cover ground of every entry in the series, even some spin-offs (Halo: Reach. Halo 3: ODST), the full library will not be included. In that, 343 Industries previously reiterated that 2015’s Halo 5: Guardians will not be added to the menu. Unfortunate, but it is accepted as not much can be done.

But regardless, 343 Industries just moments ago today offered that Halo 4 will finally be coming to Halo: The Master Chief Collection later this month. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:

“Witness the Master Chief’s triumphant return, as he battles an ancient evil bent on vengeance and annihilation. Go forth, Reclaimer,” the synapse for Halo 4 reads in the post. The game’s developer also discloses that players can also find features alike with previous additions such as 60 frames per second, keyboard & mouse integration with control configuration, and other setting adjustments unique to the platform.

On that same day. November 17, Microsoft will also be shipping an update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox Series X|S. The new patch will include next-generation optimizations for the title which fancies towards 120 frames per second target as well as 4K resolution output also.

Again, 343 Industries when speaking on the matters of Halo 5: Guardians not being added also reiterated on cross-platform play for Halo: The Master Chief Collection: that the feature is expected to be implemented by the year’s end.  You can read the initial report by heading here.
