One week ago we were celebrating the release of Halo 5: Guardians and now Microsoft has revealed that the game is the fastest-selling exclusive game to date, bringing in over $400m already. During this week Halo 5 has not only been the most played game on Xbox Live, but has smashed the $5 Billion mark for the franchise’s lifetime earnings.  Now that is a big achievement for an awesome franchise. There has been a staggering 21 million hours worth of gameplay played across the world, and that’s just the campaign mode. However for those interested in the online side of things, Microsoft has recorded 9 million hours of gameplay across the globe.

“The success of Halo 5: Guardians is a testament to the innovative work from the entire team at 343 Industries to bring this instalment to Xbox One and the incredible community of fans who have come to love the story, characters and gameplay central to the franchise.” – Phil Spencer
