We are finding out new information regarding Halo Infinite after its first gameplay reveal in campaign. In this reveal we noticed that Master Chief was exploring the ring freely giving us the answer that there is an open world portion of this campaign.
IGN had interviewed Studio Head about Halo Infinite and it looks like it will take several hours to get to the open area of the campaign.
“I would think about it more like kind of delivering on that promise we’ve had from the past,” Lee said. “There’s a lot of open gameplay in those previous games, but they’re always in these linear levels. This time players will have the freedom to explore the ring. But we are telling a story with a beginning, middle, and end that we want to carry the player through as you go.”
“What you saw in the demo that we showed, you have this map. There’s this huge open section of the ring. As you get to that point in the game, this is several hours into the campaign, then you have the ability to traverse that whole area and explore where you want to go on the ring.”

The other news we received was that there will be story content added to Infinite over time as 343i views it as a platform that can grow.
Other things to note about Halo Infinite’s campaign is that there will be a day and night cycle, an upgrade system, finding equipment out in the world and you can do mission objectives in any order.
As time goes on we will learn more about Halo Infinite’s story mode and its multiplayer before Holiday 2020.
