343 Industries is putting out an update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection that is fairly large. Popular Halo game mode, Firefight will now allow you to have eight players to play in Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST. Though, it will only be available through Custom Games and not multiplayer.
Even with eight players it does not mean the enemy count and difficulty rises. They also state they don’t expect to change the player counts in Firefight matchmaking playlists at the moment.
“With Firefight’s inclusion in CGB, we also invested in increasing its max player count from four to eight. To set expectations, the enemy count and difficulty do not scale with the player count in Firefight (though we think Legendary eight-player Flood Firefight is a blast) and we don’t expect to change the player counts in our Firefight matchmaking playlists at this time.”
Another update that came for Firefight in Halo: MCC was join in progress to Firefight Custom Games and match rejoining in matchmade games. Join in progress also opened the door for Firefight’s debut in the Custom Games Browser.
Other updates for Halo: MCC includes Theater Mode coming to Halo 4 Campaign and Spartan Ops. Halo 3 received Escalation Slayer and The Acrophobia skull has been added to Halo: Combat Evolved. All of these updates arrive to the Master Chief Collection July 12.
In other news, Halo Infinite received a classic Big Team Battle playlist that will bring fans memories of Halo 3.
