Alongside the wave of Halo-related news from today’s Inside Xbox Presentation, 343 Industries have revealed that Halo Reach will finally be coming to Halo: Master Chief Collection “later this year”. The 2010 first-person shooter have been a highly requested title that fans have been waiting for since Halo 3: ODST was announced for Master Chief Collection.
All owners of Halo: Master Chief Collection will receive the new addition free of charge which includes the game’s multiplayer, custom games, Forge mode, and theater mode. But for the game’s story campaign as well as Firefight will be a separate add-on for a set price that has not been revealed as of yet. Owners of the Xbox Game Pass subscription service will receive the two modes for free.
The series’ prequel will be a complete remaster receiving a visual and performance overhaul when the game drops in the coming months. Halo Reach will launch X Enhanced ready with HDR support, 4K resolution, and run on a stable 60 frames-per-second framerate. Weirdly enough, 343 has yet to discuss if the game will receive achievements to unlock when the game is added to Master Chief Collection. But it is best to assume another 1000 Gamerscore will be added when the game arrived.
Bugnie’s last entry for the Halo franchise was also announced today to debut on PC as the first title to drop for Halo: Master Chief Collection which will be available for both Windows 10 as well as valve’s Steam.
Halo Reach is currently available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One via Backwards Compatibility.
