Since 2013 many fans have ben anticipately waiting for more news on Microsoft’s Halo television series with Steven Spielberg to be behind the show. But since then there’s been little to now information on what’s coming to this nearly abandoned project. As of recently the locations for where they will film the show was revealed, but besides that the project has been pretty quiet.
Announced by Showtime that the live-action series has been greenlit for ten episodes. With Awake’s Kyle Killen as the show’s executive producer and Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) ti direct multiple episode along with being an executive producer.
The Halo drama will be produced by Showtime and Microsoft/343 Industries along with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television amid the revealed producers.
Production for Halo will start in the beginning of 2019. Announced by Showtime that the series will occur in the same universe when the franchise launched in 2001. Taking place in the 26th century as the human and Covenant are at war. Showtime mentioned that Halo will “weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.”
This is not the first time seeing an live action Halo series of Microsoft’s game franchise. With the previous release of Halo 4: forward Unto Dawn (2012) and Halo: Nightfall (2014).
In other news of Xbox-centered entertainment news, Dave Bautista went public on his attempt to pursue the role of Marcus Fenix for the Gears of War film.
