A while ago, we discussed some of the vague details surrounding Halo Wars 2’s upcoming and still unannounced DLC. Since then, we learned that 343 Industries, the team behind Halo Wars 2, would be holding a panel at PAX East to discuss the making of the Halo Wars 2 storyline as well as steps going forward with DLC and the game itself. Earlier today, 343 posted on their blog as part of their Halo Community Update and gave some further information about the game’s DLC.
First, while new content is always lovely and a great topic to discuss, 343 Community Manager Brian Jarrard, also known by the username Ske7ch, discussed a patch that Halo Wars 2 players would be seeing soon. He wrote, “Windows 10 players should’ve noticed an update yesterday afternoon which was a ‘day-one’ carry over that already released on Xbox One but was slightly delayed,” and continues later, saying that “a large patch for Xbox One and Windows 01 is prepping to go through certification and will include a significant number of fixes and improvements to various elements of the game including many of the most prevalent issues being reported by players.” Jarrard notes that the patch is looking to be released next week and its full release notes will accompany a post when it passes.
Now, regarding DLC for Halo Wars 2, we didn’t know much prior to now. We knew that there was a Season Pass that would give players a number of new commanders and sub-story campaigns. In today’s post, Jarrard drops the curtain and announced that the Season Pass content will be released “every third Wednesday of the month” beginning in March. He continues, sayign the first new leader is Kinsano, pictured below. He also notes that future DLC will include unique leaders, as well as associated unique commandable units, and new campaign missions with “Operation: Spearbreaker.”
When we learn more about Halo Wars 2’s upcoming DLC, as well as any details from the PAX panel, we’ll be sure to keep you updated with the latest. Until we learn more, be sure to stay tuned to Rectify Gaming for the latest in gaming.
