Under the growing belt of IPs at 2K/Take-Two Interactive, Hangar 13’s Mafia remains on of the most authentic single-player experiences for modern systems. Even recently Mafia: Definitive Edition makes headlines once again with it arriving to Xbox Game Pass. Looking ahead, light details have surfaced on the next project.
Previously, it was reported that a prequel for the IP is in the works. And with the first game set in the 1930s, players only question the direction this new title could explore. Additionally, reports did roll out not too long before indicating that Hangar 13/Take-Two Interactive are ramping up announcements for the next game.
Now at Gamescom Opening Night Live, Mafia: The Old Country is coming later this holiday. You can watch the teaser trailer in the video below:
“Uncover the origins of organized crime with a gritty mob story set in the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily. Fight to survive in this dangerous and unforgiving era, with action brought to life by the authentic realism and rich storytelling that the critically acclaimed Mafia series is known for,” the synopsis for Mafia: The Old Country reads.
“Across the first three entries in the Mafia franchise, we introduced players to the world of the Mafia through brutal stories set in different eras,” Nick Baynes, Hangar 13 president adds. “In Mafia: The Old Country, we’re going back to the roots of what fans love about the franchise, crafting a deep, linear narrative with that classic mob movie feeling, visiting a stunning new setting, and delivering it all in a tight, focused package perfect for fans of immersive experiences”
