Following the talks of CD Projekt Red’s landmark fantasy series The Witcher getting its own television series on Netflix, it seems that actor Henry Cavill as landed the show’s lead role.

After confirmation in December that the project would come to the streaming service, outlet Variety confirmed that the Executive Producer for both Daredevil and The Defenders Netflix series, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, will be in charge of the adaptation. This news gave many fans faith in the upcoming adaptation, given her previous work.

Recent reports had pegged Justice League‘s Henry Cavill as the likely candidate to play the protagonist Geralt in the upcoming series. Hissrich took the conversation to Twitter, confirming that Cavill will indeed take on the role.

This isn’t the first time seeing The Witcher on TV though, as it was a Polish television series back in 2002.

It wasn’t mentioned when we could expect to see the The Witcher on Netflix, but Hissrich mentioned on Twitter yet again that the eight-episode series debut might be in 2020.

In similar news, it was also reported recently that a Diablo series is in the works.
