This past month, Netflix has been more open to share with the coming Witcher series adapted from the line of novels from Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. However, we only got glimpses of the show through stills of the Henry Cavill playing Geralt of Rivia, not a trailer providing context for the upcoming series.
Until today that is as Netflix has finally revealed what the new video game-adapted show will bring through the first “teaser” trailer for the show. I only quote teaser mainly due to the fact that the trailer is almost 2 minutes long which offers plenty to be shown in the span of time.
Following the latest trailer, the story looks to be centered around Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri: providing an origin story of Cavill’s character seeing that Geralt has yet to receive his iconic armor throughout the majority of the teaser. Regarding the main plot, the description for the series reads: “The witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.”
Previously, it was shared through a discussion with Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos that The Witcher series is expected to arrive later this Fall alongside anticipated films exclusive to the streaming service like Irishman and 6 Underground.
