For patient fans that have been awaiting the day that Rogue Company goes free-to-play, the day has finally arrived. This past Thursday, developer First Watch Games and publisher Hi-Rez Studios shared that the 2019-announced title will be opening to the public. In that, the game will be going into open beta and players on all supported platforms will be able to experience the new third-person shooter.
As is expected for players to install the game based on the premise of the game being free, the chances of more downloads is higher thanks to the feature for cross-platform play as well so no barriers are in the way of players on different systems. But even for Hi-Rez Studios, Rogue Company even broke its expectations.
According to a new post on Twitter from Hi-Rez Studios CEO Stewart Chisam as of October 3rd, Rogue Company is the most played title in the history of the company in that 24-hour time span.
Even in comparison to Hi-Rez Studios-published properties like Smite and Paladins, this is a feat that cannot be easily achieved. Especially following the evergrowing competitive background imbedded in both titles, Rogue Company illustrates the same might be in order for the new title leading into the coming future later on.
Part of the game entering open beta, Hi-Rez Studios and First Watch Games shared that a new Rogue will be added to Rogue Company, Dahlia. You can read the full report on the newest roster addition by heading here.
