For 2022, Guerrilla Games delivered Horizon Forbidden West and the game came to be the sequel many anticipated it to be. From our review: “Horizon: Forbidden West is better in every way. Aloy and the combat has matured, and top notch accessibility options ensure many types of players can experience her journey.” It also received multiple The Game Awards nominations including Game of the Year this December.

Beyond that, Guerrilla Games did confirm a major DLC is coming this Spring – ‘Burning Shores’. However, there is something missing if you’ve paid attention prior to the game’s release. It was reported that the PlayStation 5 game would feature elements of co-op, Video Game Chronicles claimed. There was even a job listing as well pointing at Guerrilla Games exploring online for its Horizon series.

Now in a surprise post on Twitter from the official Guerrilla Games hiring page, the team confirms it is working on the next game for Aloy. Additionally, the team verifies a new game centered around co-op is also in development too. You can view the tweet below:

“We are continuing to create epic, solo adventures for Aloy. But there is more,” the letterhead reads. “A new internal team is developing a separate Online Project set in Horizon’s universe. Featuring a new cast of characters and a unique stylized look, friends will be able to explore the majestic wilds of Horizon together.”
