It was during this month’s Ubisoft Forward presentation earlier in July that the publisher announced the abruptly announced Hyper Scape will be phasing into open beta on PC for the entirety of the month. And with the live playtest still in effect, the lobbies will be closing in a few short days. Ubisoft announced that players will not be able to play starting on August 2nd.

But thankfully, the publisher tells that Hyper Scape will officially be arriving just a little more than a week after the ending of the open beta. Even more, the firm reveals that Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players will also be able to join in on the fun when the free-to-play game arrives in mid August.

With that, Season 1 dubbed “The First Principle” will be shipping simultaneously to all supported platforms. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:

Taken that a content season will initiate the game’s arrival, Ubisoft discloses some of the new additions to Hyper Scape. Things such as the ‘Dragonfly’ weapon and ‘Magnet’ hack can be found when Season 1 goes live next month. Additionally, there will be a new, yet still undisclosed game mode, and a melee-focused event where “all melee attacks instantly lethal,” Ubisoft reveals.

Of course, there will also be a battle pass that will be available offering unique in-game items for players to pay. Alike with how Apex Legends operates, there is also a free tier of unlocks players can earn without having to fork over any money. Ubisoft confirms that cross-progression is available for players moving from the beta to the full game. However, the publisher did leave out if the support will be present between Keyboard & mouse and console.

Do you plan on playing Hyper Scape when it arrives later this August?
