This week, we have gotten some new details on the new location we’ll be visiting and a new enemy we’ll face when The Taken King launches.  Of course, Dreadnaught the new location is more likely going to be a less inviting but more daring place to be in as described by Deej.

With that said, we are given more details on what to expect from Dreadnaught from Senior Artist Andrew Hopps.

“It was important for us that you will feel the scale as you moved through the holes of Dreadnaught,” said Andrew “to capture the idea of this unfathomable threat, a monstrous spaceship captained by The Taken King, yet filled with vast caverns and unknown passages.”

As well as Dreadnaught being the main point to visit in The Taken King, it will also be the centerpiece of “The Taken War,” which will also be progression that will extend way beyond the traditional storyline as stated by Deej.  Also, along with Patrol mode, this was stated to be the next leap forward.

For most Destiny players who have been playing since year one, there has been ways to grind through factions in order to rank up their gear such as doing patrol and Public Event missions, which is basically almost like running quick errands during this time around, but that apparently is going to be taken to a new level.  According to Ben Wommack, one of the designers of Dreadnaught, there will be new bounties and missions to do for both Patrol and Public events that are both small and large.  Not just that, there will also be more secrets waiting to be discovered such as treasure and secret bosses to come up against, which will also lead to earning satisfying loot.

Along with the creation of Dreadnaught, this with no surprise will also lead to a new type of enemy the players will encounter called the DarkBlade.

Not much is said about about the Darkblade, but it and other Hive who will be on board the Dreadnaught will more likely oblige to make an acquaintance to the Guardians, when they pay a visit on Dreadnaught on September 15th of this year.  Of course this was just a small glimpse of what to expect from The Taken King, and should expect more details next week of this year’s Gamescom in Germany.
