IKEA Gaming Furniture To Launch Sometime In October 2021

Although we found ourselves buying traditional furniture to curate our entertainment center for gaming in the past couple of decades, none were truly produced specifically for the hobby. Well, not from an official brand that is. But it was until this past year that IKEA announced a new arrangement with ASUS’ Republic of Gamers to develop a new line of products for the niché market.

In that, users can expect the likes of entertainment centers, desks, chairs, and other table-top accessories to complement all things gaming. While certain products asks for more than it compensates for, the new partnership between both firms is to introduce a cost-saving collection for everyday players to find what they need at that does not feel like an investment more than a purchase.

According to a recent press release from IKEA, the Swedish company announces the Republic of Gamers collection is to be available this October.

We believe there’s a lot to be done to democratise the gaming experience. Now we take the first step on our gaming journey, and we do it by presenting affordable, high-performing gaming products and complete solutions that we hope reflect people’s personality and taste.

“Gamers globally know and love the Republic of Gamers brand and they trust it to deliver the most exciting gaming innovations in the market. Our new partnership with the experts at IKEA will allow Republic of Gamers to find new and interesting ways to delight gamers in and around the home,” says ASUS Gaming Gear and Accessory Business Unit General Manager Kris Huang.

Altogether, there is a total of 30 different pieces of furniture that will be available from the collection as promised from the announcement. Additionally, design also went into consideration for the demographic IKEA is aiming for. “We want our products to offer better ergonomics and functions so that gamers can become even better at what they do without wearing out their bodies – become better athletes, basically,” Jon Karlsson, IKEA Designer told.

Previously, it was discovered that IKEA is also assisting potential buyers purchasing furniture in anticipation for the oversized next-generation Xbox & PlayStation. Through photos on Imgur, cardboard Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles are found at some locations. You can read the full report by heading here.
