From the team that shipped Just Shapes & Beats, a rhythmic, top-down bullet hell, is now creating one of the most grotesque 2D platformers. Titled Infernax, the new side-scroller is not like traditional entries of the genre: instead, players can soon find themselves engrossed in the deep gore system from the game. Just read the excerpt from Rectify Gaming’s coverage of the game at PAX East 2020:
“Berzerk Studio goes even further with the gore which paints the game in smaller doses. Watching the zombie-like enemies eating corpses as the blood blankets the ground and the same for attacking as well. When defeating the concluding boss, the player is drenched with the entrails from the foe and you can watch the bodily fluids drip to the ground. All are satisfying despite how minor these traits are for the game.”
Atop of that is the RPG elements that players can explore when making game-changing decisions to direct how the world will transform. In a new trailer released on Tuesday, publisher The Arcade Crew reveals Infernax is set to release on Valentine’s Day next month. You can watch the release date trailer in the video below:
“Infernax is the adventures of a great knight who returns to his homeland only to find it plagued with unholy magic. While on your quest to find and destroy the source of this corruption by any means necessary, you will face ruthless creatures, dangerous beasts, and precarious terrains. Think well before deciding on what to do my friend. A single choice can change the game; remember that thing you did to that guy? Farmer Pepper remembers.
The description on the game’s Steam page continues, “Smash as many monsters as you can to get some money, spend your savings to buy better weapons and armors from the blacksmith, gear up and get stronger for this journey of smashing even more faces! Every choice you make open up different side quests to obtain powerful weapons and skills or money
“Storm the Castle and slay their bosses before more innocent fall to the mysterious curse that plagues your land. In the end, only you can rid the land of Upel of these monsters, whichever way you decide to do it; you do you, dude…”Are you excited to play Infernax in February?
Infernax is scheduled to release on February 14, 2022 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
