At the start of the summer, Activision shipped the then-anticipated Season 4 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Howbeit, as time continues forward, new content is planned to take place in the following weeks for the continuously growing online, first-person shooter. After a teaser that was posted last week, fans grew excited learning that Season 5 will be arriving on August 5, today.

In a new blog post for the debut of the latest seasonal update for Modern Warfare, developer Activision shares what to expect from Season 5 and elaborates on all the newest additions for the game. To kick it off big, Versansk will be receiving a slew of new things to keep the game fresh in Warzone. Including both Plunder alongside the prolific Battle Royale mode, a new locomotive can be found patrolling across the map. In addition, the train station the vessel will stop at can also be accessed now.

Expanding on more interior locations, Infinity Ward literally blew the top off the stadium as players can now traverse through location and find new firefights to engage in. In there, players can find Call of Duty League Championship banners nodding to the game’s respected competitive esports scene. Players will also find Exterior Ascension equipment in Warzone allowing users to vertically zipline large structures like buildings and elevator shafts finally.

Heading into multiplayer, Petrov Oil Rig and Suldal Harbor are two new vistas players can visit in 6v6 matchmaking. Gunfight also receives a new location, Livestock, focusing on the rural landscape for 2v2 battles. A piece of Warzone will also be seeping into multiplayer with Verdansk INTL. Airport being the next setting for Ground War.

There are also new game modes players can expect such as Mini Royale for Warzone, where the description reads “only the first and last five minutes of a normal BR game exist meaning rapid deployment, constant movement, and high-kill strategies are set to yield victories that are both short and sweet.” Multiplayer can also take on Search & Destroy Double Down with 12v12 lobbies and Bare Bones rotating playlist stripping players of killstreaks and perks.

For the newest items in game, the AN-94 rifle and ISO SMG are the latest weapons added to the game’s growing arsenal. Lerch, who is advertised for Season 5, will be the newest Operator added for players to pose as in either standard matchmaking or when they drop into Verdansk in Warzone.

Elsewhere recently, Infinity Ward disclosed that coming updates, including Season 5, will be more ambitious while still minimizing the file size of Modern Warfare for console users. You can read the full report by heading here.
