In the upcoming plans for developer IO Interactive, the developer is quietly at work for its approaching Project 007 game. However, the team is not entirely done with Hitman either. Although launching earlier in 2021, Hitman 3 is expecting an entire campaign of add-on content for the coming months. When revealing the ‘Seven Deadly Sins’, the DLC is to be stretched out for the remainder of this year.

But while the team is slowly working on the remnants of its billboard franchise, another trilogy is planned. In one statement transcribed by The Gamer, IO Interactive plans to evolve Project 007 from one installment into a full-on three-installment series in the forthcoming years. Even more, plans to execute this is with another opened studio in the near future, the statement elaborated.

Recently in a new announcement directly from IO Interactive, the developer announces the opening of a new branch in Barcelona, Spain.

There are exciting times ahead at IO Interactive and I am proud to announce the next step in our plans for the most desirable game company in Europe. IOI Barcelona will become the third studio to join our efforts to create phenomenal experiences for our players and communities.

Given the circumstance of the prior report, IOI Barcelona is likely working on Project 007. But, there is certainly another project underway. In one statement from Chief Creative Officer Christian Everdam, he explains there is a new project that is still in premature development. Gathered from other findings prior, it could be a new online experience.

Previously, Freedom Fighters received a PEGI rating in Europe which sparked a possible return to the IO Interactive game.
