Today, Bungie Studios has officially revealed the gameplay for Marathon, a brand-new extraction shooter that will release on September 23, 2025. A Closed Alpha has also been announced that will begin on April 23 and will run through May 4.

Players inhabit a Runner, a cybernetic mercenary scouring the remains of a lost colony of Tau Ceti IV for fortune and power. Players team up in crews of three as they battle rival Runne teams and hostile security forces for weapons and upgrades.

Will Marathon Come To Nintendo Switch 2?

Marathon will release this September on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. A release on Nintendo Switch 2 seems highly unlikely at this time, but that could always change in the future. The new console does seem to have strong third-party support to begin its launching stage, and it will be interesting to see if Bungie will support it.
