For Xbox, the reputation for the platform has continued to spiral downward and still into the Xbox Series console cycle. However, its latest few releases continue this trajectory for Microsoft’s gaming push even more. The most evident of this is Arkane Studios’ Redfall. Instantly at release, the game was met with deserved criticisms for the state of the game upon its launch.
However, the game did face new fixes over time which did lighten the load on complaints, but it appears it’s too late to undo what was already done. In a new development from Microsoft Gaming, it was revealed that the developer was shuttered along three other Bethesda teams. In response, the remnants of the team before closure rolled out the final update which revamped more of the game’s formula alongside including offline mode.
And now with work officially ceasing on continued add-ons for Redfall, there is a new development surrounding Redfall. According to Reddit user u/ahnariprellik, those that pre-ordered the ‘Bite Back’ deluxe edition are facing refunds. “Check you inbox folks. I just got a refund from MS for $32.08 for my Bite Back edition purchase,” the poster writes.
As part of the Bite Back edition, it included a slew of in-game content. Additionally, this also expands to other promised DLC advertised in the bundle. Whether purchasing the Deluxe Edition outright or simply acquiring the upgrade, it listed two new heroes that would be included in its post-launch initially slated for Redfall. Obviously that is not going through anymore.
What’s more, it appears this new surge of refunds is more fixed for digital purchasers – at least for now. The Reddit user spoke with others in the thread that mentioned redeeming the code from the physical version. Although ahnariprellik was given a refund, other users are still waiting and are under the impression that a separate submission is required to file before receiving any compensation.
