Jagex, the developers of RuneScape and Old School RuneScape have officially announced it is developing a new Survival game set in the RuneScape universe. In the announcement post on X (Twitter), Jagex revealed this new game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, but they didn’t give too many details.
They are now trying to recruit playtesters for the Closed Alpha as they want community feedback. However, this is a very strict test as they require players to sign an NDA among other requirements.
Jagex is developing a new Survival game set in the RuneScape universe using Unreal Engine 5. We know Jagex is at it's best when we're working with players, so we're looking to recruit playtesters for our Closed Alpha. Sign up now to help shape the game: https://t.co/vnNjjY9x0i

What was interesting about the Alpha Test Signup for this new RuneScape Survival game is they ask if you’ve played games like Minecraft, Ark, Palworld, and many other games within this genre. They also ask how many hours you put in and ask if you can play at least 10 hours of this new project so players can provide proper feedback.
This announcement was expected to come at some point as there were several social media accounts using the title ‘RuneScape Project Survival‘. This indicated a reveal could be coming soon for this new game and for now we have the confirmation of this being real.
It hasn’t been confirmed if this project will be PC only or if it will come to consoles. As we all know, Jagex doesn’t release their games on consoles at least for now.
