This week, developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has stayed in the spotlight for multiple instances. Yesterday during the PlayStation State of Play, the Japanese developer unveiled Like a Dragon: Ishin. The new title slated to ship this February is a reworking of the original 2014 release in Japan. Now, a western adaptation in Unreal Engine 4 is underway.
Additionally, the same developer announced Like a Dragon 8 is in development. It will be until 2024 that RGG Studio & Sega release the game, but, Kasuga Ichiban and Kazuma Kiryu will both star in the new experience. Not only that, but the team also revealed Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name coming later in 2023 which stands as a follow-up for 2016’s Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.
On Wednesday, the team revealed both Judgment alongside Lost Judgment is shipping on Steam. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:
“From the same team that brought you the critically acclaimed Yakuza series comes the Judgment series, following disgraced attorney Takayuki Yagami in his quest for redemption and to defend those that the law fails to protect,” the trailer’s description reads. The reveal does come at a surprise especially with the 2021 game facing obstacles in Japan for the PC version when it originally release.
Even the remaster for Judgment which released on Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 comes at a surprise with the only supported version on PC being the Stadia port. Those who purchase the two-game bundle will also receive The Kaito Files DLC for free. Elsewhere previously, a Lost Judgment show is in the works in Japan and will star Takuya Kimura.
