Killer Instinct Anniversary Edition Announced

Iron Galaxy held a 10th Anniversary developer stream for Killer Instinct and they announced a few new things for the fighting game including the Killer Instinct Anniversary Edition. With the 10th anniversary update, there will be two versions of KI.

The Killer Instinct Base Game will be Free To Play on all platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series XlS, Windows PC, and Steam. The free base game will feature one weekly rotating Fighter and Single-Player, Local, and Ranked modes.

The Killer Instinct Anniversary Edition will cost $29.99 USD and will include all 29 Fighters, and all Premium Content ever released: the VIP Double XP Booster, holiday accessories, and more.

If you have already owned the Premium Content for Fighters, skins, accessories, etc in Killer Instinct for Xbox or PC, you will keep that content unlocked in Killer Instinct Anniversary Edition.

With this announcement that means the Killer Instinct Definitive Edition will be retired from the store and replaced by Killer Instinct Anniversary Edition. All purchased Definitive Editions will be upgraded to the 10th Anniversary Edition for free.

Here is what will NOT be included with the Anniversary Edition:

Definitive Edition App (featuring developer interviews, concept art, Killer Cuts soundtrack)

Xbox KI Classic 1 & 2

If you already own Killer Instinct Definitive Edition digitally, you will still be able to download the above content even after the Definitive Edition is retired.

It’s great to see Killer Instinct received support once again especially when it was announced during EVO 2023.
