Under the current reign of Fall Guys from Mediatonic, it is no surprise when Epic Games showed interest in acquiring the developer that following year. Even more, the game began to make waves as of this year with the current multiplatform release on Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Even more, the game shipped as a free-to-play experience as well.
But what else could come of Fall Guys? Well, Nintendo appears to be tackling this with its own IP. Already, Kirby and the Forgotten Land shipped earlier in the year and the firm is already preparing another release for this summer starring Kirby once more. In that, Kirby’s Dream Buffet is the answer bringing the same momentum of Fall Guys arena racing with a twist to eat the most strawberries.
Spanning across Race, Minigame, and Battle Royale game modes, players will have plenty of opportunity to come out on top. This week, Nintendo announced Kirby’s Dream Buffet is set to release next week. You can watch the overview trailer in the video below:
“Roll through a smorgasbord of food-themed stages in delicious 4-player competition as a rounder-than-usual Kirby. Anyone can take the cake in Kirby’s Dream Buffet!” the description for the game reads on the Nintendo eShop. “Race across mouth-watering obstacle courses collecting strawberries to plump up Kirby. Play a minigame in the bonus stage between races. Then turn the tides in the battle round—a final fruity fight atop a floating platform.
“Roll through food-themed courses collecting strawberries and Copy Foods as you race to the finish. Earn extra strawberries at cake goals at the end of the race. Play a delectable minigame between races! Compete with other players to collect as many strawberries as possible within the time limit. In the final confrontation, knock opponents off the stage to steal their strawberries. Use your Copy Food Abilities as you battle it out to see which Kirby has grown largest!”
