Back in 2016, Hideo Kojima following his departure from Konami revealed his upcoming self-published title starring Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus, Death Stranding. Since the game’s formal announcement, many have been eager to see what is to come from the creator of the Metal Gear Solid franchise with the glimpses that released up until now.
Recently in the latest issue of Famitsu, Kojima made a statement to celebrate New Years that could possibly have teased the timeframe for his upcoming game to release. Translating from the Japanese magazine, his message reads:
“Is 2019 the year of the Whale? Please look forward to Death Stranding!”
On top of the vague demos that still leave fans questioning what the plot of Death Stranding might be about; this simple teaser from Kojima is a clearer indication on the highly-anticipated game over previous. Witnessing the title’s absence at this year’s Game Awards, this will compensate fans that are eager to see the game make an appearance at Geoff Keighley’s annual show.
Death Stranding as of yet does not have a set release date.
