South Korean publisher Krafton is slowly conjuring its own conglomerate of talent already. With many familiar with the firm, its ambition with PUBG Battlegrounds is no secret across PC, console, and was even a show piece for Stadia at one point. However, the firm went even further with its latest endeavor – Striking Distance Studios.
The team is composed of Glen Schofield, one of the creators for Dead Space. This past December, Schofield shipped his successor, The Callisto Protocol. From our review of the game: “From the opening moments to the ending scrawl, Callisto Protocol firmly takes the style of space horror and catapults the visuals and style to a new level.”
In a recent announcement, Krafton shares it is opening a new Montreal division with efforts to interpret Yeong-do Lee’s The Bird that Drinks Tears. The team is to comprise of leadership from studios like Ubisoft Montreal & Warner Bros. Montreal.
Our team is currently made up of seasoned talents with a proven track record of successful games. We share a common goal: to deliver the finest adaptation of the novel and to provide an exceptional experience to gamers. As a fan of medieval fantasy since my teenage years, I’m excited to bring to life a fantasy masterpiece as an ambitious and memorable game. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of the Krafton family.
