Las Vegas will host Halo World Championship Qualifier in Nevada's first esports arena

While traditional sports have had arenas for centuries, esports continue to gain recognition as genuine competition with each passing year. Next month, downtown Las Vegas-located “thE Arena” will host two major events in esports.
Coming on March 3, thE Arena will host the Halo World Championship Qualifier. During the qualifier, teams will compete for the $50,000 prize pool and one of the top six slots to move on to compete in the Halo World Championship Series, to be held this spring.
The second event to hit thE Arena is actually a dual-event: the Millennial Esports Madden NFL 2017 Open, for both Xbox and PlayStation. Both Madden events will be held simultaneously in thE Arena’s 15,000 square foot space with 1,100 seats for spectators as well as dedicated DJ booths, VIP areas, and an LED video wall.
