Latest PlayStation 5 Promo Updates Forspoken PlayStation Exclusivity To January 2025

It is no secret that one of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s biggest edge when it comes to third-party releases is its exclusivity arrangements on the platform. More so in recent years with some major titles for PlayStation 5 including Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake, GhostWire: Tokyo, and Godfall. But others are even more eye-opening.

In a discovery from a previous trailer for Luminous Productions’ Forspoken, it was revealed that the upcoming PlayStation 5 release will be unique to the platform for roughly two years. However, the game faced a string of delays – most recent landing it on January next year. Well, it is likely Square Enix will update this arrangement similar to it did for Final Fantasy VII Remake back in 2020.

Well a new PlayStation 5 promotional video for featured titles was uploaded revealing the new time until Forspoken can be seen on other consoles. In that, the deal is said to be active from January 2023 until January 2025. You can watch the video in the tweet below:

“Forspoken available Jan 24, 2023. PS5 exclusive until Jan 23, 2025.” As previously noted on the game’s exclusive ties to PlayStation 5 for two years, this is only extended to the new release date. However, the game is also listed for PC as well so players do not have only one option come the release for Forspoken next year.

From the same PlayStation 5 promotional video, it is revealed that Final Fantasy XVI is not facing as long a release unique to PlayStation. In that, the title will instead be exclusive to the platform for only six months following its release sometime in summer 2023. You can read the full report by heading here.
