In recent weeks, the continued debate on how much money Xbox Game Pass actually makes was finally put to rest when revealing that Microsoft earned gross revenue in the billions. According to a report on turnout for Xbox Game Pass on console from 2021, it generated nearly $3 billion at the time. Additionally, Xbox Gaming CEO Phil Spencer expressed certainty that the service is profitable to some degree rather than a loss for the Xbox firm.
For what can drive users to sign-up for the service is a few variables. One being the value offered in return to subscribe. With first-party titles to launch on the service, that is a comforting counter to many. That also includes the other day one releases orchestrated as well over time. Another attempt is promotions: one being trials offered through purchases or participation in certain events. Microsoft did this with PC Game Pass earlier this year already.
Now this week, a new promotion is to go live which features Twitch users gifting subs. It is revealed that only two subs can secure new subscribers with three free months of PC Game Pass. The offer is to run from November 3rd to November 11th. “For a limited time, we’re teaming up with Xbox to provide a PC Game Pass trial when you support Twitch streamers with subscriptions!” Twitch writes.
“This is just one of the ways we’re experimenting with giving you more for watching and streaming on Twitch. This is an added benefit to everything you already receive from subbing to your favorite streamers, including custom emotes, badges, Channel Points multipliers, as well as ad-free viewing and sub-only chat — when enabled.”
For November 2022 alone, the service has already confirmed its newest additions for the month. That includes Return to Monkey Island, Somerville, and Pentiment just to name a few plus many more. You can read the full report by heading here.
