This week’s special challenge for Mortal Kombat X on the mobile is Nightmare Freddy Krueger and introducing Pretty Lady Leatherface. Leatherface is playable as a DLC in the console and PC versions, but this is the chainsaw-wielding maniac’s first appearance in the mobile version. Usually, there is only one challenger for a chance to gain that character as your own, but this Halloween, there are two each week (starting every Thursday afternoon) until the end of October.

Pretty Lady Leatherface can deliver triple damage to his enemies after performing a Combo Ender. Also, when his teammate stuns an opponent, there is a chance Leatherface will assist. You can also purchase Leatherface for 430 Souls and is a Netherrealm teammate. He starts out with a 1275 attack and 950 health. You can also see some gameplay footage here.

Nightmare Freddy Krueger has been around for a while, but if you want to save some Souls and even earn Freddy’s Glove as a weapon (which you must complete in Hard Mode), then give it a shot. Freddy’s abilities include “nightmare damage”, in which the game appears in a psychedelic state and you have a 3-15% damage boost; also, since he’s a Netherrealm team member, he can give his Netherrealm teammates 10% higher critical damage. Imagine putting Freddy, Leatherface, and Jason Voorhies in one team? That would be awesome!  He starts out with a 1200 attack and a 1100 health, and costs 450 Souls.

This challenge ends on Thursday, but will have a new challenge, like they do every week, mostly likely a Day of the Dead Kitana, since that day is approaching fast. If you haven’t downloaded this game on your mobile device, it’s free.
