In the past couple of months, we have witnessed Sony Interactive Entertainment’s openness to the opportunity to ship some of its most renowned releases to the PC market. With the approaching summer releases for both Guerilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn alongside Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding to be a few, it should be noted this initiative was established by Quantic Dream prior to Sony’s direct involvement.
Back in early 2019, the French studio was partially acquired by Chinese firm NetEase which entailed the team’s properties to release on more systems. Evidently, that happened to be PC with the release of Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, and Detroit Become Human all shipping on the platform within the following couple of months. Howbeit, this was only executed through the means of the Epic Games Store.
But now according to a new listing on Steam Database, the first sign for Quantic Dream’s debut on the Valve-owned storefront has been discovered. Users online uncovered that the team’s 2013 title starring the likes of Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe will be coming to the platform.
As of reporting, Beyond Two Souls is the only title from Quantic Dream to be found. The discovery comes to be interesting seeing that the latter release project is listed before the preceding Heavy Rain which shipped back in 2010. Regardless, this is an energetic finding for fans who are still waiting to pay a Quantic Dream release on Steam.
A similar situation occurred for another PlayStation 4 exclusive property recently: Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon. The title appeared on Steam Database also which entailed a western release to be announced for PC alongside PlayStation 4. However, the announcement instead was made for Xbox One/Xbox Series X days following the initial report. As of yet, there is no word on the listed Steam version.
