Sega fans might remember the fun and nostalgic Super Monkey Ball series when looking back at previous titles that dropped initially on the GameCube or Nintendo Wii, but leaving a question if the series will ever step foot in the current generation of consoles. Noted that the latest installment in the series released back in 2014 for mobile with Super Monkey Ball Bounce, it has been some time since we have received a true title playing AiAi on a major console.
According to a recent finding from GoldMetalSonic, the series seems to plan on returning with a new installment that is currently listed on the Taiwanese Ratings Board. The title for the game (現嚐好滋味！超級猴子球) which translates from Chinese reads Now Taste Good! Super Monkey Ball. Another listing within the same page reveals a Japanese version of the game (たべごろ！スーパーモンキーボール) that reads after translation into The food is great! Super Monkey Ball: the listings is said to be available for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Typically, this is no news for unannounced titles to spawn from Asian Ratings Boards as we have already seen not too long ago with Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered as well as Spyro: Reignited Trilogy for PC.
It’s exciting to see that Sega is returning to fan-favorite franchises as the publisher does have an arsenal of IPs at their disposal to cook up new installments for. Especially as it is apparent that a new Sonic title will be dropping in 2021, hopefully similar events will happen to other Sega series to make a comeback for current hardware.
