Amid the recent news of the pitched story for the game that never reached it’s potential to make it into development with Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic 3, it seems that despite the game’s last installment going as far back as 2004, Lucasfilm is still interested in the universe that surrounds the game’s plot and push a possible new entry.

Though the franchise did evolve into an expansive Old Republic MMO along with the world being translated into its own line of comics, countless fans still anticipate the day that the franchise makes it to theaters. In a recent interview with Lucasfilm’s President Kathleen Kennedy at this past Star Wars Celebration, she shares that the production company is currently developing something.

When MTV News’ Josh Horowitz asked if Knights of the Old Republic was something Lucasfilm is looking to pursue, Kennedy responded by sharing that “I have no idea where things might fall, but we have to be careful that there is a cadence to Star Wars that doesn’t start to feel like too much.”

Exciting as it might be that this is the first tangible news for Knight of the Old Republic for quite a while now, it is still unsure where this will lead the series as her answer didn’t reveal what exactly this means to come. This could vary from a side-story film similar to Star Wars: Rogue One, a show lining up for Disney+, or even the third installment in the game series. As of yet, there is no certain path Lucasfilm is planning to head for KOTOR.

What do you think should be done for the Knights of the Old Republic regarding its future?
