At this year’s E3-hosted Nintendo Direct, Nintendo as expected showed off a preview of what players will experience for Luigi’s Mansion 3 with a new setting, co-op adventures with Gooigi, and more gameplay elements to experiment with the Poltergust 3000. Oddly though, amid the bevy of news that gave lead way for an anticipated release date, Nintendo only directed for a release date aimed later in 2019.
Now a month later according to a listing on Amazon Mexico, fans might only have to wait almost three more months for the game to debut on Nintendo Switch. The listing states that the awaited follow-up will be coming on October 4th: meaning you won’t even have to wait until a date closer to Halloween to play.
Which makes sense for the Nintendo to follow as the company has done the same for the 3DS version of Luigi’s Mansion with a slated launch for October 12 last year. Though there is no real incentive for an October release for the third installment, it does match well for the spooky atmosphere the series strives for with the holiday that comes at the end of the month.
Seeing that Nintendo has an already stacked lineup of titles for Fall with Astral Chain, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and Pokémon Sword & Shield being some of the headliners, it is a risky decision for Nintendo to take if the leak happens to be true ultimately. Nonetheless, the influx of fans that have been patiently waiting for a third title since the sequel’s release in 2013 will be excited for a release of the game regardless of the date.
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is listed for Nintendo Switch with a potential release date for October 4, 2019.
