Mad Max Director George Miller Would Only Allow Another Video Game Adaptation With Hideo Kojima Attached

Certainly, it is no understatement the influence garnered by Hideo Kojima’s creative drive for roughly three decades now. And moving ahead, he continues to work on new projects that offers the same level of quality. Most surprising is the newest announcement in collaboration with Xbox. At The Game Awards, Kojima announced OD with Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us) also attached as a producer on the new project.

Additionally, more titles are also in development at PlayStation. In one announcement, the sequel to Death Stranding is underway. Tilted ‘Death Stranding 2: On The Beach‘was announced with a 2025 release date confirmed. In a separate reveal, Kojima also shared a new espionage title is underway in direct association with PlayStation Studios – presumably expected for a next-generation release.

In a new development following the box office release for Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, director Geroge Miller when speaking to GamingBible revealed he would only allow another video game adaptation with Kojima’s hands on the development. He shared this after fair providing disliking of the 2015 Avalanche Studios game.

“Well we did make a- video game make on when we did Fury Road. We’ve been asked many many times,” Miller says. “And it wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be,” he added. We gave them all the material to a company to do it. Which you know, I’m one of those people that I’d rather not do something unless you can do it at the highest level.

“Or at least try to make it a higher level. I’ve just been speaking to [Hideo] Kojima here who came all the way here from […] if he would take it on- he’s got so much fantastic stuff in his own head that I would never ask him. But if there was someone like that to take it on because I couldn’t do it.”

Upon release in 2015, Rectify Gaming gave Mad Max a 9.5/10. “This game is the perfect game for any Mad Max fan. […] And because of its genuine Mad Max feel, as well as its captivating story, hours of content, and just the general awesome feeling that you get when playing, I give this game.” You can read the full review by heading here.
