Mad Max release date confirmed – Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions cancelled

Announced back at E3 2013, the spin-off movie adaptation of Mel Gibson’s post-apocalyptic Australian setting was planned to be released in 2014, but later pushed to 2015. Revealed today by Avalanche Studios, Mad Max will be released on September 1st, 2015.  Reported by Game Informer that Avalanche decided to drop the plan for the game to be released on last generation consoles (Xbox 360 and Playstation 3), and focusing more on the newer generation consoles for better visual effects, making it only available for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. Known from one of  Avalanche Studios previous titles, Just Cause 2, it had a massive world that you can explore and cause mayhem in. Mad Max will probably be similar with a more dry and run down environment than Just Cause’s vibrant and tropical location.
