NetEase Games officially released the popular hero shooter, Marvel Rivals, in December 2024. Right from the first weekend, Marvel Rivals reached over 400K concurrent players on Steam alone. The game is also available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S adding more to the player count. 

The producer of Marvel Rivals, Weicong Wu, spoke to IGN at the DICE Summit and mentioned that the developer is in contact with Nintendo to bring the team-based hero shooter to the Switch 2.

“We’re already in contact with Nintendo and working on some development kits. And Whenever we find that we could provide great performance for our game on Switch 2, we’re open to that.”

It was only a month ago when Nintendo officially revealed the Switch 2. The official direct for the new console will be taking place on April 2, 2025, at 9:00 AM ET. The presentation will give a deeper look at the console and some games that will support it.

There is no question that more third-party developers and publishers want to support Nintendo’s new console. Marvel Rivals could reach new heights once NetEase can find great performance on the Switch 2.
