In the current scheme of things, Marvel is and continues to pursue more licensed video games – similar to Star Wars, thanks to Disney, probably. Since the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man, we also so the welcoming of Marvel’s Avengers, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and the upcoming Marvel’s Midnight Suns. Not to mention Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and later Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 & Marvel’s Wolverine both on the way.
Well, between all those, developer Camouflaj worked on and shipped Marvel’s Iron Man VR back in 2020. Prior to that, the game face great consequences with the COVID-19 pandemic rolling out at the time and face uncertain delays then. But now, the game is heading to Meta Quest 2 with the acquisition of the developer which was announced this week.
During Games at Connect 2022, Meta announced Marvel’s Iron-Man VR is planned to release next month for the Meta Quest 2. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:
“Take to the skies in Tony Stark’s iconic Iron Man armor. Travel the world and face off against Ghost, a hacker with a dangerous drone army and a mysterious connection to Stark’s past. Packed full of deep-cut references for longtime Marvel fans, this is the closest you can get to inhabiting Iron Man’s armor, short of building your own,” the brief synopsis for the game reads in the blog post.
Elsewhere recently, Marvel & Electronic Arts announced a new Iron Man game is in development. EA Motive, most known for Star Wars Squadrons and the upcoming Dead Space Remake, is to helm the new project as it enters early development. You can read the full report by heading here.
