Do you remember Cadence of Hyrule from Brace Yourself Games? The team partnered with Nintendo to release a unique spin on The Legend of Zelda as you crawl through dungeons and fight to the rhythm of the musical score for the game. Well, what if you used that mechanic with the likes of Doom or Wolfenstein? That is where you get Metal: Hellsinger.
This new project from former DICE employees now-developer The Outsiders brings the addictive gunplay of your favorite first-person arena shooters and slaps on a layer of metal rock. The team has collaborated with Serj Tankain (System of the Down), Matt Heafy (Trivium), Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquility), Bjorn Strid (Soilwork), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), James Dorton (Black Crown Initiate), Randy Blythe (Lamb of God), and Tatiana Shmailyuk (Jinjer).
From the Summer Game Fest showcase on Thursday, The Outsiders reveal that the game is slated to hit console & PC later this fall. A demo for the game is out now on all listed platforms. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
“Part human, part demon, and obsessed with vengeance. Become The Unknown, and fight through the fiercest domains of Hell. Destroy the demon hordes and their leaders to set yourself up for an epic showdown with The Red Judge herself,” the description for the game reads on its official steam page.
“Metal: Hellsinger is a rhythm FPS, where your ability to shoot on the beat will enhance your gameplay experience. The more in sync you are with the rhythm, the more intense the music will become and the more destruction you will cause. Defeat the demon hordes with a skull-clad blade or a wide range of murderous guns. Each weapon has its own ultimate ability, such as Murder of Crows or The Big Goodbye.”
