Metroid Prime 4: Beyond receives new trailer and reveals Psychic Abilities

Nintendo held its surprise Direct on Thursday, March 27, revealing new games and showcasing already-announced titles. One of those games was Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Nintendo gave us another lengthy trailer. The gameplay trailer not only gave us a closer look at what combat and the environment looks like, but we got a new ability reveal for Samus.

In the trailer, Samus Aran has been unexpectedly transported to the planet Viewros. While she explores the planet for answers, Samus is granted psychic abilities – mysterious and ancient powers that allow her to control the trajectory of her beams, operate mechanisms, and open doors. 

When Does Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Release?

During the Nintendo Direct, a release date was not announced yet. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is still expected to be released in 2025. 

There is a Nintendo Switch 2 Direct happening next Wednesday, April 2, that could showcase more of Metroid Prime 4. During that event, we could see a release date reveal. Pre-orders are not yet available on the Nintendo Store.
