Microsoft is reportedly planning to release Starfield on PlayStation 5

There have been many reports and rumors that certain Xbox exclusives will be making their way to competitor platforms like Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. A new report from XboxEra claims that Microsoft will be planning to release the 2023 Xbox console exclusive, Starfield on Sony’s console in the future.

XboxEra reports that “Microsoft is planning a launch for Starfield on PlayStation 5 post the release of the Shattered Space expansion for Xbox and PC.” They’ve also mentioned that Microsoft “has made additional investment into PlayStation 5 dev kits to support ongoing development efforts”.

The outlet also shares that Microsoft will make a public announcement on this new strategy sometime this month.

It is already rumored that Nintendo will be hosting a Direct in the next week or so and with the rumors of Hi-Fi Rush coming to the Switch and PS5, it’s possible that news gets revealed during that digital showcase.

In the first three months of its release, Starfield reached over 12 million players across Xbox and PC, and the game was the biggest launch for Bethesda Game Studios.

What do you think about this move from Microsoft?
