According to Eurogamer that the Fable franchise will be making its way back with a new game starting its development.
The team behind the new title is those over at Playground Games, the ones behind the Forza Horizon series. With not much else information as the game is still early in its development, the game is said to be an open world RPG. It is said that developer Playground Games will have a new office with 200 people working on this new project.
With this being good news overall for Fable coming back and Microsoft’s reputation for cutting games, some have ” Mixed feelings” on the entire situation. Ex Lionhead staff spoke with Eurogamer that they’re happy for what’s leading up for Fable, but that Lionhead won’t be making the true Fable 4.
With Lionhead being closed back in 2016, many seemed to see the end of Fable as a whole and the beginning of the end for Xbox as other titles like Scalebound follow in the downward spiral of cancelled games. The last Fable game, Fable Legends, was a free-to-play card game that focused on multiplayer and was a more different game to the fans of the franchise.
