When discussing products for Xbox and the ecosystem constructed for its users, many of the different items that continue to be featured come from third-party manufacturers. Most recently, OtterBox unveiled its own line of items for players ranging from xCloud-supported peripherals and even controller grips also. But, Microsoft has been fairly light on its end of unique, in-house products from the Xbox company.
Yes, the latest Xbox Series X|S controller is a one to be considered. However, the gamepad is more of a given since it is bundled with the next-generation console. But, to pair well with the latest iteration of Xbox, Microsoft has finally unveiled its newest Xbox Wireless Headset that is planned to hit the market later this year.
With pre-orders already live, the new $99.99 headset will include expected features such as Dolby Atmos support, 15-hour battery life, and even an auto-mute feature as well. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:
“We spent a lot of time in the audio testing chambers trying to characterize and understand how the headset reproduces audio in different room environments,” Erik Garcia, Project Architect and Lead stated on properly calibrating the device to user’s benefit. “It goes in your living room, game room, and dorm room and we want it to sound the best for all types of audio.
“In the same way, the team studied gameplay to ensure great sounding chat with a sensitive mic to prevent background noise.” Aside from the niché features that are expected with what is considered a next-generation headset, Microsoft is also issuing one cool element that looks to be unique to the new product. In that, the headset can be paired with both your console alongside your mobile device simultaneously.
“You can also simultaneously pair the headset to your phone and Xbox. That means, for example, that you can chat with a friend or – as the engineering team recalls doing – dial in to a conference call on your phone and play on your console at the same time.” You can pre-order the headset on the Microsoft Store by heading here.
