Since its original announcement back in May 2013 during Xbox One’s reveal stage, both Microsoft and Steven Spielberg have been pretty silent about the live-action series for the Halo franchise. The last time we heard an update was a year ago at the Rooster Teeth Expo (RTX) from a Q&A session 343 took part. The studio confirmed the show was still in production though further details were sparse.
Well, today, a year later, we got a statement directly from Microsoft saying, “Progress on the Halo television series continues. We want to ensure we’re doing this the right way together with a team of creative partners( Steven Spielberg and Showtime) that can help us build the best Halo series that fans expect and deserve. We have no further details to share at this time. Thanks

Earlier this month, 343 has confirmed Halo 5: Guardians is getting a 4K update for Xbox One X later this year, ““Following its official debut at E3, there’s been a tremendous amount of growing excitement around the upcoming release of Xbox One X and the promise of true 4K gaming. Many Halo fans were quick to note that Halo 5 was conspicuously absent from the list of games being given the 4K treatment (…) we are excited to officially confirm that Halo 5 will receive a game update to support true 4K with the release of Xbox One X later this year! We’ll have more to share on this front as we get closer to release, so stay tuned.”

Halo CE: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and Halo 4 are getting backward compatibility support later this year, “Each of these games will include campaign and multiplayer, and will even support LAN play on Xbox One – including LAN play between Xbox One and Xbox 360! Once released, you’ll be able to pop in your original disc or purchase a digital copy of the game via the Xbox Store and jump right in.”
