Microsoft Shares An Overview For The Revamp Coming To The Xbox Store

For users that use Xbox One avidly should be familiar with the current state for the Xbox Store. While the UI does work and do the job, how it functions does not directly stand to be what you would expect from a modern console in 2020. The interface continues to be very jagged and does face freezes or lagging which just makes purchasing or simply navigating a hassle on the platform.

However, the firm has recognized this issue and plans to resolve what has effectively plagued using the Xbox One entirely as the digital storefront is a leg of the table for the console. In a new blog post, the company elaborates more on the coming update which is shared to be intuitive and responsive in contrast to the version available now.

Xbox Principal Program Manager Cody Bird tells that the new Xbox Store is a reconfiguring of the current base and pushes the boundaries for a reinvigorating experience many would hope to find on Xbox One. “Far more than a typical app update, we’ve rebuilt the experience from the ground up to be faster, safer and easier to use than ever before.”

Our goal is to provide an inclusive and intuitive experience for everyone, and we’re committed to making it easier than ever to find your next favorite game, app, movie, or TV show. This starts with a fully redesigned navigation system, allowing you to jump between shopping experiences in a snap or deep dive into something specific.

The team’s emphasis to bring accessibility and guide users with ease on the Xbox Store is told to be an ambition for the coming revamp. The update will also include a new Wish List for users to save items from the store alongside and shopping cart that functions as would expect on other platforms. And with the next-generation upon us, Bird also tells that shopping is simpler than ever before as viewing items will not hinder the user no matter what platform the game is available on.

Previously, Microsoft was reported to still be retaining the current interface from Xbox One for the approaching Xbox Series X. While users were irritated that the firm does not expand to a new dashboard for the next-generation unit, perhaps the new Xbox Store’s navigation will reflect that on Xbox Series X to change some minds. The Xbox Store overhaul is said to ship first to Xbox Insiders on August 5, 2020; all users can expect the update sometime this fall.
