Minecraft Bedrock: A Nightmare in Candyworld Review.

This map was made by Everbloom Studios. They have also made maps such as Logic0 and Love Dropper. This map costs 830 on the Minecraft Marketplace. The Marketplace is a place for partners of Minecraft to publish maps. These maps can be purchased through Minecoins which are a currency in Minecraft.

A Nightmare in Candyworld was first launched onto the marketplace in June 2018. While it didn’t capture the eyes of many players, it has slowly grown over time. For a sale on Block Friday, it was reduced to 510 which encourages players to purchase this map.

Normally when you think of a candyworld map, you think of a happy, fun place where everyone loves each other and everything. That is not the case here. Instead it is a heavily based combat map where you have to fight to survive.

It has chapters as well. Each with their own narration, cut scenes and animations made for the map. This map makes you feel you are in a story book and you are the protagonist. You are the person who has to save the world which can really drag a player into the map.

Chapters 1-4 all have different scenarios for the player to do. For example: chapter 1 has an introduction to the storyline as well as backstory to the series of events leading up to this moment of the current storyline. Chapter 2 has an array of events including multiple quests leading up to 1 big boss fight.

This map has a few different additions to it compared to other maps including a full narration both for characters and cutscenes, cutscenes and a deaths-to-points system. The narration works by certain characters having voices in the map. Their speech is also formed into text via the chat.

The cutscenes are where you are in the middle of the air, floating and you get flown to a certain point. The narrator is also telling you a brief description of the chapter you just played and the next chapter. This can be useful if you lost track of certain points.

The death-to-points system is interesting. The more deaths you have, the more points you are going to have. A mini challenge is to get 0 deaths in this map to master it. It is easier said than done.

A Nightmare in Candyworld is a great map to play if you want to pass the time and you want to see more maps created by partners which you have not played before. It can truly capture a player into the storyline and you are in for some twists, surprises and interesting turns if you purchase it.
