Minecraft Map Review: Monsters From The Ice

Monsters In The Ice is a map available on the Minecraft Marketplace for 1170 Minecoins. Monsters In The Ice is by Noxcrew. They have made maps like “City Living” and “Spaceships and Aliens”.

Summer can be quite a hot time right? The sun striking down on you, children running around because they are off school and of course, marketplace partners releasing maps. Someone at Noxcrew said “Yo, why not release a map that is themed around the cold and snow” and everyone nodded their head.

Monsters from the Ice is a map that extends on the everlasting series of Terra Swoop Force, the map that Noxcrew is most known for. Taking place in between Terra Swoop Force and Monsters of the Deep, your objective as a player is to turn on all of the generators to power up the center so Dr. Alan Columbus and Sasha can continue their investigations into the deep ice.

While you’re placed in the middle of an ice cold arctic setting, Alan and Sasha are there to help guide you through your adventures. But this is of course a map which is by Noxcrew so you can expect some twists and turns. I can feel them rising up in your mind.

The gameplay and feeling of this map is very warm (pun intended). Each chapter (aka generator) allows the player to view the side of different challenges, tasks and rewards. As you go on your adventure throughout this map, you can collect hidden items in chests with a “?” on them. They are typically well hidden so you need to look quite hard to find them all.

You can also upgrade your armor and weapons throughout the map as you collect a different type of collectibles. These are found in crystals and rocks and they range in all different shapes, sizes and environments.

This map appears very…icy. This map has a resource pack which allows the map to extend on the limitations of Minecraft and extended the palette which really helped the map be become eye-appealing to the player.

In general, the map continues the long lasting legacy of the Terra Swoop Series and it brings an in depth look into how Noxcrew uses these new animations and custom models to their advantage. This map receives an 9/10 for me.
