Villagers have been in the game of Minecraft for a very long time. They didn’t always have a function. One time, all they did was run around. No trading, no farming no anything. Just running. But then in Minecraft Java 1.4, they got a function: trading. This changed the game.
They got a useful function. Crazy right? But then a few updates later, they got another feature: farming. They could farm… amazing. But the farming tied into another feature: breeding. Villagers needed to breed to expand the population of the village. They now breed by trading bread, potatoes, carrots and beetroot with each other and the amount of doors.
But that is about to change. Instead of the amount of doors that are needed for breeding, it will be the amount of beds. This is quite a strange change but it makes sense. Villagers need somewhere to sleep as well and the cannot sleep inside of doorways like bats so they need beds. The more beds there is, the more room for more villagers to sleep in and then expand and etc.
It could look like a small feature but this feature will “break” villager breeders and new ideas will need to be thought of to make it work.
