MKX Mobile Challenge Thursday (12/20/18): Kold War

Hello gamers, it’s Thursday once again, so in the spirit of Christmas this week, the theme for MKX mobile is Kold War. So for those of you a bit unfamiliar with history, three of the Challenge Kombatants are dressed in Soviet-style uniforms to “commemorate” the Cold War from 1947 to 1991. Who are these Kombatants? Here they are:

Kold War Scorpion (Netherrealm):

FROST BURN: Achieving 80% on Flame Shield (Special Attack 2) applies Fire DOT (damage over time) to the entire enemy team

Initial Statistics:

• 1,000 Attack
• 990 Health
•    ”    Toughness
•    ”    Recovery
• 100% Power Generation
• Special Attack 1: Spear (Medium damage)
•       ”            ”     2: Flame Shield (High damage)
•       ”            ”     3/X-Ray: From Hell (Extreme damage)

Tower Challenge:

• IV (12 matches): Your team must be made up of only Netherrealm Characters
• V (15 matches): Jacqui Briggs (of any type) must be on your team

Rewards:

• Normal Difficulty: Acquiring KW Scorpion (or another Tier if you have him)
• Hard Difficulty: A new tier of KW Scorpion plus Shirai Ryu Kunai Weapon.

Kold War Sonya Blade (Spec Ops):

BLIZZARD SKIN: +30% Attack vs. Outworld. Each team member stars encased in ice armor that reduces incoming damage of a single Special or X-Ray attack (by 90%).

Initial Statistics:

• 950 Attack
• 1,100 Health
• 950 Toughness
• 950 Recovery
• 100% Power Generation
• Special Attack 1: Arc Kick (Medium damage)
•       ”           ”      2: For the Motherland (High damage)
•       ”           ”      3/X-Ray: Special Forces (Extreme damage)

Tower Challenge:

• IV (12 matches): A Martial Artist Character must be on your team.
• V (15 matches): Kano (of any type) must be on your team

Rewards:

• Normal Difficulty: Acquiring KW Sonya Blade (or another Tier if you already have her)
• Hard Difficulty: A new Tier of KW Sonya Blade plus Military Vest Armor

Kold War Sub-Zero (Martial Artist):

ARMS RACE: Increases team’s Power Generation and decreases opponent team’s Power Generation for each Kold War team member. +50% Critical Damage against enemies affected by Freeze.

Initial Statistics:

• 1,000 Attack
• 1,200 Health
• 1,075 Toughness
• 1,100 Recovery
• 110% Power Generation
• Special Attack 1: Ice Ball (Medium damage)
•       ”            ”     2: Ice Klone Smash (High damage)
•       ”            ”     3/X-Ray: Deep Freeze (Extreme damage)

Tower Challenges:

• IV (12 matches): Your team must be made up of only Gold Spec Ops Characters
• V (15 matches): Tactical Sonya Blade must be on your team.

Rewards:

• Normal Difficulty: Acquire Kold War Sub-Zero (or another Tier if you already have him)
• Hard Difficulty: A new Tier of Kold War Sub-Zero plus Ice Daggers Weapon.

These three Characters can make up the ultimate Kold War team (in fact, they’re the only one until another Kold War Character shows). They can also keep you very busy during this Christmas week, so the recommendation is to complete three Towers a day (i.e. if your Characters are sufficiently powered-up).
